Kozhikode: Shihab Thangal Dialysis Centre at Calicut, which provides free dialysis facility to the poor and needy kidney patients, has been inaugurated. This centre is a prestigious project of C. H. Mohammed Koya Memorial Charitable Centre and has the facility to provide dialysis to 27 patients a day. Dialysis Centre building, at the vicinity of Calicut Medical College Hospital, was opened at an inaugural function held on 5th March, 2010 by Mr. Syed Hyderali Shihab Thangal, President, IUML, Kerala, in presence of the well-wishers from both India and abroad. Mr. M.A. Yusuff Ali, NRI Businessman inaugurated the facility, executing the maiden operation of the equipment. Mr. P.K. Kunhali Kutty, General Secretary, IUML, Kerala presided over the function.
There were various other ceremonies following the inauguration. Mr. Abdul Wahab Peevee, M.P. inaugurated the New Aslam Block at C. H. Centre and released “Aslam Documentary” by handing over the first copy to Mr. C.K. Majeed. Mr. E.T. Mohammad Basheer, M.P. formally launched the drinking water facility to the Medical College Higher Secondary School Authorities. Dr. M.K. Muneer distributed Wheel chairs. Mr. Ravi Pillai opened the new dormitory and Dr. Varghese Moolan presented new ambulance to the centre. Representing the Centre Mr. Syed Hyderali Shihab Thangal received fund from Mr. Padiath Basheer, for Free Meal Scheme and Mr. A.P Abdusamad Zabil, Chairman of the Dialysis centre, received fund from Dr. P. A. Ibrahim Hajee for the dialysis centre. Mr. M.P. Ahammed handed over the Dialyser kit to Mr. T.P. Mohammad. Mr. A.P. Abdusubhan Shamsudheen and Mr. A.P. Rashid Aslam Mohiuddin presented souvenir to Contractor Mr. Abdul Majeed.
Mr. M.P. Virendra Kumar, Dr. Raveendran, Principal, Medical College, Calicut and other dignitaries addressed the gathering. Mr. E. Ahamed, Minister of State for Railways and National President of IUML, who could not make it to the venue because of the ongoing Parliament session, sent a message to the function applauding the efforts of C.H. Centre. Mr. M.C. Mayin Haji read out the message in the meeting.

Abdul Majeed, Mr. Hercules Abdul Latheef, Mr. Soman Baby, Mr. P.V. Gangadharan, Mr. C.P. Kunhi Mohammed, Mr. K.P. Mohammed Kutty, Mr. Parakkal Abdullah, Mr. C.V.M. Vanimel, Mr. Yahiya Thalangara, Mr. Aaliya Hameed Haji, Mr. Basheer Batha, Mr. Kavungal Mohammed, Mr. Paloli Mohammedali were also present.
Mr. M. A. Razack Master, General Secretary, C. H. Centre, welcomed the gathering. Mr. K.P. Koya, President of the Centre presented the report and Mr. Ibrahim Elettil, General Secretary, Dubai C.H. Centre, introduced the eminent personalities on dais. Mr. M. V. Siddique, Organising secretary of the centre proposed a vote of thanks.
