Moradabad, Jan.08: The General Council meeting of the Uttar Pradesh State unit of IUML met here today at Kamal Banquet Hall. The first list of the candidates for the State Assembly Elections was discussed and finalized. The meeting was presided over by Moulana Kausar Hayat Khan, State President of the Party and was held in the presence of Mr. Iqbal Ahamed Advocate, National Vice President, IUML, and both Central Observers Mr. Khorrum Anis Omar, National Secretary, IUML and Mr. K. Muhamed Kutty. The List of candidates, submitted to Mr. E. Ahamed, National President, IUML, will be announced later after getting the final approval of the central leadership. Mr. Iqbal Ahamed and Central observers also had a special sitting with the State office bearers of the party to chalk out the party’s election strategy.

Nafees Ahmed Advocate (Moradabad) who resigned Samajwadi Party, Haroon Chowdhary (Hapur) and Nawabudhin Siddiqui (Gaziabad) who resigned Congress to join IUML were accorded warm welcome to the party and received their IUML membership from the leaders.

Dr. Md. Mateen Khan, State General Secretary, welcomed the gathering, Ishtrat Husain Advocate, State Vice President, Engineer Shakeel Ahmed, Israr Saifi, Jamal alam, Najmi Qureshi, Sher Mohamed, ashraf saifi, Nazim Parvesh, Ahmed Zahir, Md. Owais Advocate, Zahir Ahmed, Rahath Afroz, Javed Khan, Mukim Qureshi, Md. Raihan, Md. Imran khan, Hasan Kamal, Salman Khan, Farhan Khan, Jagdish Mahor, Md. Khaliq, Zamir Hasan Ansari, D. P. Singh, Hakim Mushtaq, Dr. Kalim Ashraf, Md. Adil Khan, Md. Rafeeq etc. participated in the discussion.
