IUML Uttarakhand gears up for Assembly Polls

Dehradun, January 4, 2012- IUML will field its candidates in the Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly Polls to be held on 30th January. The decision in this regard was taken by Indian Union Muslim League Uttarakhand State Executive Committee meeting held here at Hotel Gaurab Conference Hall. The State Executive has unanimously decided to field its candidates in selected constituencies. State Committee have received a large number of applications from party members seeking the ticket for elections, the Executive discussed in detail about the potential Candidates and decided to send the draft list of candidates to Mr. E. Ahamed, National President of the party for the approval of the Central Leadership.

National Leaders of the party, Mr. Iqbal Ahmed Advocate, National Vice President, Mr. S. Naim Akhter, National Secretary and Bihar State President who are appointed as State Observers from the National Committee, Mr. Khorrum Anis Omer National Secretary and Mr. K. Muhamed Kutty, Member, Central Monitoring Committee were also present in the meeting. Central representatives also had a seperate meeting with the IUML State office bearers to finalize the election strategy.

Uttarakhand State IUML President Maulana Abdul Khaliq Nadvi presided over the meeting and Mr. Ghalib Hassan, State General Secretary convened the proceedings.

Munshi Shaukat Ali, Former State President, Tahir Khan Suri, State Secretary, Zaheer Ahmed, State Secretary, Hafiz Gulbahar, State Tresurer, Sufi Aziz Ur Rehman, Mahanagar Unit President, Dehradun, Akbar Ali Khan, Mahanagar Unit General Secretary, Aashu Ansari, Bijendra Kumar, Naresh Kumar, Gurmail Singh, Haseen Ahmed Salmani, Shahzad Ali, Mohammed Furqan, Manzoor Hassan etc. participated in the discussion.
