At a time when Muslims were wandering with out a herdsman, after the partition of India, a leader strode to them airing the slogan of ‘Honourable Existence’ Thus, a political party in the name of Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) was formed under the able leadership of Qaid e Millat Mohammed Ismail Sahib.
The path paved by Qaid e Millat was transforming as an ideal epitome for Muslim minorities to involve in the nation building process, by strongly upholding the democratic secular values. It became a strong political movement in Kerala for honourable existence. Their way was intensely constructive. Destruction has not found a room in their philosophy. Thus, they successfully realized the ideology of minority politics in a multicultural social setting. This is the story of IUML and the political empowerment of Kerala Muslims through their political unity.
The Kerala State Muslim Youth Leagues idea to have a National Muslim Youth Meet in Kerala was not for a mere youth meet just to show its strength to other youth organizations, but to give an opportunity to look back how the Kerala Muslims achieved their development better than any other states of India. This was programme comprising political awareness journey through the historic places and important institutions, and interaction sessions with historians and intellectuals. Delegates from all over India got an opportunity to have a glance upon the achievements made by Kerala Muslims through their political strength.
